The Advanced Rider course is available to anyone who holds a full motorcycle licence and wants to improve their riding. The course is suitable for anyone who rides a motorcycle regardless of age, gender or disability and is suitable for any stage of your riding journey. Perhaps you’ve just passed and think you can further your knowledge and skills, or maybe you’ve been riding for decades and want to check if you’re riding to an Advanced standard.
The IAM RoadSmart Advanced Rider course includes:
• A series of rides with an Observer (generally around 6 sessions), providing guidance and practical examples to help you develop your skills
• A copy of our IAM RoadSmart Advanced Rider course log-book
• Your first year’s membership with IAM RoadSmart and your local Group
• IAM RoadSmart Advanced Rider Test fee
• Access to member benefits, including a subscription to the IAM RoadSmart members’ magazine

Alternatively, for riders who want to enhance their skills without committing to the full Advanced Rider course, our Rider Development Session offers four hours of one-to-one on-road coaching tailored to your specific needs, whether it’s mastering cornering, improving motorway riding, or perfecting your overtaking technique. This session is being trialled in selected areas across the UK.
